My Research
I am a bioinformatician and research associate at the Department of Bacteria, Parasites and Fungi at Statens Serum Institut, Denmark. My main research interests are the molecular epidemiology and host-pathogen interaction of opportunistic pathogens and I enjoy studying them using genomics and bioinformatics approaches. With a focus on melting together data and knowledge from various disciplines, my research approaches modern epidemiological challenges in a holistic One-Health perspective.
My background is in evolutionary biology from the University of Zürich and ETH Zürich, and I have done my PhD in Evolutionary dynamics and human epidemiology of LA-MRSA at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark and the Department of Bacteria, Parasites and Fungi at Statens Serum Institut, Denmark, where I since then am employed as a research associate.
